Shelly Lindstrom

Owner / Principal Designer

I have found that not all paths are linear.  My path started by graduating from St. Olaf College with degrees in Economics, Russian Studies, and a minor in Management. I then worked seven years in IT consulting at Accenture, before finally finding myself at the University of Minnesota for Interior Design.  The path may not have been straight, but it has been full of growth, friendship, and gratefulness to wake up every day and do something I love…design!  

My free time is mostly spent in ice rinks and at soccer fields cheering on my kids… but when given more time, I enjoy being on the lake, hiking, gardening, and cooking.  Above all things, I love spending time with my kids, Hannah, Jack, and Paige, and husband Matt.


How it all began

Officially started in 2011, Fluidesign Studio is the collaboration of two friends, who met 6 years earlier at the University of Minnesota in Design Studio I.  The beautiful work we create is a result of a deeply rooted friendship that is founded on trust, shared values and a highly collaborative environment. We continually push eachother to expand our design boundaries and think outside the box. Every once in a while we push eachothers buttons, but those days are far and few between!

Carrie Steiger

Lead Designer

My passion for creativity began at an early age while growing up in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. Those early years instilled in me a deep love for design and its power to create lasting memories.

To further nurture this passion, I pursued a degree in Interior Design with a minor in Environmental Design at the University of Minnesota.

In 2013, I had the incredible opportunity to align my purpose and passion by joining Shelly at Fluidesign Studio. I’m truly grateful to be part of a team where we bring creative, thoughtful design to life every day!

Outside of work, you’ll often find me and my husband, Matt, chasing our daughters, Hazel and Stella, down the ski slopes or pulling them tubing behind the boat! I’m also an avid gardener, yoga enthusiast, and tennis player.
